View Case Study The Brand Crafting cyder sinceAspalls draw on a wealth of family heritage that spans nine generations. Their founder Clement Chevalier - owner of Aspall Hall in Suffolk - decided to plant apple trees on arable land and create a pure, unadulterated cyder unlike so many other producers of the time.

This maverick thinking and commitment to high standards are still cornerstones of the brand today, which is why Aspalls wanted the ultimate stand out font to represent their premium brand.

The Vision We took inspiration from Aspalls itself - the Hall, the village, the cyder house and the beautiful agricultural land of Suffolk.

The shape of the font became elegant and organic, taking inspiration from natural shapes and forms. The intricate detail of the branding and font handle are a nod to Aspalls Georgian roots.

A premium silver finish always felt right, and through photo real visualisation we added a complementary gold base, bringing the pure cyder colour into play.

Illuminated branding on the side of the font completed the vision, making the Aspalls name stand out wherever it was placed. The finished product draws the eye and makes an experience of ordering Aspalls. Customers feel the history, heritage and premium quality of the Aspalls brand.

Belhaven Best View Case Study Belhaven Best Brewing for almost years, the Belhaven Brewery has survived an industrial revolution, two world wars and an increasingly competitive market to claim its place as one of Scotlands favourite brewers. Belhaven Best was launched in and pioneered a new form of beer drinking in Scotland.

We kept their industrial heritage in mind with a black matte metallic finish. Subtle and balanced just like the beer, the unique shape and height of this font makes it stand out on the bar. It had to be instantly recognisable to the consumer in the off-trade, a perfect platform for the rebrand yet allowing their other beer brands to be fitted.

Angram were commissioned to develop a new Craft unit to promote this offering, enhancing the Greene King proposition on the bar and guiding consumers to buy.

The base of the new craft font has recognisable details like brass bolts and engraving, all of which reflect this traditional brewing equipment. The tap handle adds to the crafted feel, individually made in wood and branded with the Greene King logo.

At a glance, consumers can see the depth of the range and choose which beer to try next. We were approached to design and develop a new range of handpumps and Lo-line T-bar to be rolled out across the estate, enhancing all the brands they serve on the bar.

When it came to production, flexibility was key - the Lo-line T-Bar would be used on a wide range of bars for a wide range of beers. On the launch of their new lager and aged oak beer, they approached Angram to design and develop a unique beer font, incorporating the story of aged oak beer.

It was important to make an impression - as a departure from their core range, the font had to reflect the rewarding experience of this new Helles-style lager and the heritage of their aged oak beer.

The Heritage We took our design cues from the industrial heritage of Edinburgh, where Innis and Gunn are based. A long history of engineering and high architecture make the city what it is today, and this is reflected in the detailed, precision-machined font.

As a contrast to the modern steel finish, the long middle section was replaced with oak, a nod to the aged oak beer customers know so well.

The result is a traditional yet modern, precise yet organic font, where old and new are combined harmoniously as a whole. Heartlands We designed and developed a T-Bar unit with a sleek, contemporary look. Handcrafted in single batches using only the finest ingredients, Boston Lager has a rich, robust and complex taste - it sets the standard for the Samuel Adams range.

When it came to design, we took our cues from a bespoke Samuel Adams tap handle provided by the customer. Made of wood with a copper scroll, we mimicked this look throughout the unit, choosing a cylindrical font with a wooden core wrapped in antique bronze, riveted scrolling.

The Samuel Adams logo and branding has pride of place in a fully-illuminated 3-part pod. Finished in silver, it lifts the design of this unique font.
